What's New

Less than a week until Michael starts his new job. He is excited to get started. We had an orientation banquet last Tuesday for the family. They went over everything the recruit should expect and prepared the family for a very intense 3 months to come. Pretty much they said that Michael will either be at work (in academy) or at home studying. They wanted to make sure the families understood that we were on our own for a while. :o) It will go by fast though. Can't be too different than when Michael went through Paramedic school. The only time we spent together was going over flash cards. (lol)

Since Michael is going to be so busy, Makayla and I took up swimming again. We are doing a water babies/kids class twice a week. She is doing so good!! She can almost float on her back by herself. She is still afraid of putting her face in the water but we are making progress. Once she gets comfortable with that then we will move on to another class. She told us that if she had "glasses" for the water then she would put her head in, so I guess we will try with some goggles and see what she does. Michael had two days available before his new job starts to go with us so here are some pictures of Makayla and Michael at class.

The Truth Comes Out!

Well here is the whole story. We couldn't decide wether we really wanted to find out what the baby was or not. So at the appointment we did not find out. We did however have the ultrasound tech put a picture in an envelope so that when curiosity would find us weak, we could look. Well, that moment came much sooner for Becca than Michael. And of course, Michael said, "OK" we can look. So we are happy to announce that the newest addition to our family will be a . . . . . . baby. . . . BOY. .

The Long Awaited Ultrasound

We had a doctors appoinement and had our long ultrasound today. It was fun but also nerve racking. After we counted all the fingers and toes and watched the heart beat for a while we felt pretty good. Everything looks great! Heartbeat is nice and strong, the baby actually measures for an earlier due date which is good, means the baby is growing nicely. We got some cute pictures so hopefully you can tell what they are.

Just to drive you all crazy, we DID NOT find out what the baby is at the appointment.
