Celebrating 60 years!

Betty and Jim Porter
Married Nov. 1947
60 years together!!

Grandma and Grandpa Porter are celebrating 60 years together. We celebrated by having kind of like a family "reuinion" to celebrate their journey through life together.

Family came from California, Canada and parts of Oregon to celebrate. We had such a good time together.

There were many stories told and so many more memories created. Both good. . . and bad. We had some mishaps and disapointments on our camping trip but we created so many special moments and memories with family that will be remembered for a life time. We are so blessed to have our family!!

Mishaps. . . what mishaps you say. . . . well here is just the begining of our trip. Papa decides to pull a "typical Dave trick" and pretend he is a bear in the woods coming out to attack us all in the dark. . . well as he is making his noises and creaping up behind us, he trips over a rock, slips in the gravel and falls over. . . . breaking both his tibia and fibia on his left leg!! He didn't exactly get the reaction he was looking for but he did sure scare everyone!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAKAYLA!!

Lisa helps Makayla get ready for the party. . . . Lisa even let Makayla paint her nails! Let's just say that Makayla got a little creative, but Lisa kept the paint on. She was a great sport.

Makayla turned 4 on July 29!! She is such a grown-up! :o) She had a very fun Birthday this year. We celebrated with family on the Saturday before her birthday and then on her actual birthday she was able to have a party at Chuck E Cheese with some friends. She had a wonderful time at both.

Is it mine???

I finally got to give Makayla the one toy that I really wished I had when I was a kid. I have to admit I was envious of any kid who had one of these growing up. I wish I were still small enough to go for a ride!! It took me a whole year to talk Michael into it but when I finally did I knew just what I wanted to get her. She was so suprised!! She walked out and saw her car and walked right passed it. . . is that my present? . . . . . is it really mine? She was so cute. And she LOVES her car. She gets it out any time we are outside. It does an awesome job at Nana and Papa's house too. It goes great in the grass, gravel and even up little hills. I am impressed with it's performance. Makayla took to driving with no problem. She is very good! Even backing up.

The picture(s) below is Makayla at her "friends" birthday party. She had it at Chucke Cheese.
