Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm

Makayla's Preschool took a fieldtrip to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm today. We had a GREAT time! It wasn't as warm as it has been the last few days, but was a great day, and we got some good pictures.
This was the kids first time on a school bus, which was VERY exciting.
The girls play ring around the rosie while we wait for the bus.

Mema was able to go with us on the fieldtrip today which was a special treat!

Makayla and her "crush", Diego. They were so cute, they even shared a seat on the bus.

Easter Egg Hunt

Makayla and her cousin Ben waiting for the egg hunt to begin.

Michael had to work Easter this year but we had a great family weekend. Saturday we got up and headed to the Egg hunt at a local park. There were a lot of people there!! But the kids had a blast.

Makayla's friend Diego was at the egg hunt too. (above: Diego, Makayla and Ben)

I was so proud of Makayla after the Easter Egg hunt! Her cousin Ben (picture below) only got 4 eggs in the hunt. So, Makayla went up to him and offered several of hers. It was so sweet and such a great moment as a parent to watch this happen.

Kaden's egg hunt was after the other kids so he had a chance to see what it was all about before we got started. He did really well collecting the eggs but then sister started helping out. She was such a great big sister and at the end was so proud that he had so many eggs even though he had more than she did. It is so nice to see this side of a child come out. (Instead of being upset that he had more. . )

My Cute Kids

Have I told you lately how cute my kids are?!

Kaden has had this thing lately with walking around with his hands in his pockets. He is like a little man. It is really CUTE!

Don't you just want to pinch those cheeks?

I find it harder and harder to keep this up to date! I do try! I love to stay connected with our friends and family but with a very busy toddler and an ever curious 4 year old at home the"quiet times" are few and far between. Michael laughs at me when all I want to do is cuddle up on the couch and watch an TV once the kids go to bed. It is just nice to sit and do nothing that is tasking. . . . and to finally watch something that is not animated or rated G. Gone are the days of talking on the phone, playing on the computer, taking a nap. . . our schedules just don't seem to "work together" anymore. A new season of life will come and hopefully I will be better at keeping in touch. >SMILE<

On the upside of things, we have two beautiful children who love the outdoors as much as we do. So I pray for the sunny weather to come and stay for a while. We were teased with the sunshine for a couple of days this last week so we did everything we could outdoors before the rain came back.

Work in Progress

Since the day we bought this house we knew wether we rented it out or lived in it, the yard (curb appeal) would be one of the first things we worked on. Being that it was the end of November before we moved in, we haven't had too many nice days to work on it, but have made some pretty good progress. The pictures above show how the yard looked when we bought the house. We decided that leveling out the yard would be the first step. . . . so Michael got to work.

As you can see in the above picture, we had to bring in quite a bit of dirt to even things out.
Michael did a really good job with the rataining wall.

Next we had to decide where we wanted to put plants. We dug up several that were next to the walk way and made some new flower beds.

Now we are just waiting for the grass to grow!! We have planted flowers and every day the sun shines. . . I add a few more. That's my favorite part! *SMILE*

Makayla has been a big helper too. She loves to plant the flowers and helped Michael plant bulbs under those flowering trees. So, right now we have daffodils, tulips and crocas. It is feeling like spring!
