GRADUATION DAY!

He did it!! 13 long weeks have come and gone! Today, Thursday, May 31st was Graduation Day for Michael. He is now a "Probie" as oppose to "New Recruit". The graduation ceremony was really nice and we celebrated with family after at "Porters" house with a big BBQ. Michael didn't get much time to enjoy being a graduate because he starts work (his first shift) the following day, Friday, June 1st. Then he will have his two days off and be able to get back into the routine of 24 on 48 off. We are all looking forward to that.

4 DAYS OF ACADEMY LEFT

Makayla really enjoyed a weekend at home with dad and no studying!!! She was his shadow for most of the weekend. She helped him work in the yard, we had picnics in the backyard, they played games, and even planted some more plants in the garden. She's not sure about him going back to work for another week but this is the last week. He graduates academy on Thursday but then starts shift work on Friday so this will be a long week. After that, we will be back to our weird/"normal" schedule. We are all looking forward to that!

"Showered" with Love

My long time wonderful friend Janell gave us a baby shower this last weekend. It was wonderful! This baby boy will not have to worry about wearing his sisters hand-me-downs, that's for sure. (ok, not that he would anyway. ) We were blessed with many wonderful gifts, and Makayla received a couple of her own which was very sweet.

Tea for 4

Becca, Kaylene, Bethany, Becky
My friend Becky put together a surprise tea party for me last Saturday. She had Michael make sure I was up and dressed in time for her to show up and take me away. We went to a little tea house in Lebanon and 2 of our other friends were there. We had a really good time just hanging out and talking, with no children present. :o) The girls put together a gift for me (and the baby), they did a mystery outfit. Each of the girls brought a piece of the outfit, like the pants, shirt, jacket, socks etc. with out knowing what the others were bringing. The outfit turned out really cute, and it matched perfectly!

Ready for Baby

The due date is approaching quickly!! I think we are ready though. Michael has 2 1/2 weeks left of academy and we have just 2 weeks after that until baby should be here. We still don't have a name picked out, hopefully it will come to us. :o) Michael hasn't vetoed my suggestions, so that is good. We have just a few finishing touches to do on the nursery but things are looking good and I am getting organized. Makayla loves to help get things ready, she is going to be a great big sister.

The Gilbert House Childrens Museum

Becca and Makayla joined DJ's Childcare (Nana) at the Gilbert House today. We had a great time playing with all the fun stuff and between rain showers we even got to play on the huge play structure.

There is one room at the Gilbert House that is full of BUBBLES! Makayla, Ben, Katy, and Gabe had a blast making bubbles.

Zach and Makayla made a bubble around themselves.

The kids learned about gravity! They thought the balls flying in the air were pretty cool.
