Tree Hunting

It has always been tradition on the Porter side of the family to get our Christmas tree on Thanksgiving weekend. This is a tradition that Michael and I kept with our family, so this last weekend we went tree hunting. We went to the "Tree Patch" as Makayla called it. Why not, if you go get pumpkins from a patch, that's most likely where you would get a tree, right?

It was a very cold day, but we at least saw the sun so it wasn't too cold.

The tree farm we went to has a nice shelter area with hot chocolate, wassel, cookies and popcorn to enjoy and a nice hot wood stove to gather around.

Feeding Fun

I forgot how much "fun" it is to teach a baby to eat. Kaden is truely enjoying his food! He has been eating cereal for a little while now, but doesn't like it too much. We introduced him to sweet potatos (in honor of Thanksgiving) last week and he really enjoyed them.

I LOVE My Bath!!

Kaden is such a joy to give a bath to. He is ready for swimming!! I can't hardly keep him on his bath seat thingy, he just wiggles and kicks his way off. He even tries to roll off of it. He just absolutely loves his bath time. He's a craaaazy boy!!!

Our Visitors

Benjamin, Quinn and Makayla

Makayla's cousins, Benjamin and Quinn came to stay this last weekend. The kids all had a great time together. We had nice and sunny weather so we took a couple trips to the park and we also went to The Gilbert House. They had a blast!! Michael and I had a pretty good time too.
We had a really good day at Gilbert House and wore the kids out!!

Kaden's New Quilt

Great, Great Aunt Doris made Kaden a quilt. She put lots of time, energy, and love into this quilt. It turned out awesome! He seems to like it pretty well.

Just Some Thoughts. . . . .

I can't believe that this week Kaden will be 5 months old!! I know I keep saying I can't believe how time can go by so fast but man!! It's a little scary! The kids are going to be all grown up before we know it.
So, as you can probably tell by now I have a hobby. . . . . I really like to take pictures. :o) I am not so good about actually getting these pictures in the scrapbooks but I kind of feel like this is my digital scrapbook. It is easier to share with everyone anyway. I am already going back to when Kaden was born and looking at pictures saying, "I can't believe how much he has changed". It's only going to get worse isn't it?!? The older we get, the faster time goes. I just plan to enjoy every minute of it. And take a picture of course. >Smile<

MY LITTLE ARIEL!!

From the time that we picked out Makayla's costume she insisted that she have red hair. She would wake up every morning and ask me how we were going to get her hair red. "Are we going to paint it with a paint brush?" she would ask. So Uncle Aaron got her some paint for her hair. She was so excited!

Makayla and Kaden all dressed up to go to a harvest party. We went with Aunt Sarah and Uncle Tim and the kids to a harvest party.

The kids had a really good time playing all the games and they got to go trick or treating throughout the building.

Makayla was awesome at the hockey game, she got it in the 2 slot twice.

Makayla loved the large blow up slide! We spent a long time here.

Kaden spent most of the Harvest Party cuddled up with dad.
